Andrew Fuller

Andrew Fuller studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Florence Hooton and Derek Simpson. In addition to a busy schedule as a chamber musician and guest principal with many orchestras, his duo partnership with Michael Dussek has had great success. Their recordings for Dutton have received critical acclaim and include works by Bantock (with harpist Lucy Wakeford), Kenneth Leighton (with violinist Lorraine McAslan) and Walford Davies (with organist Roger Fisher).

Andrew is principal cellist with the New Queen’s Hall Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, and the Primavera Chamber Orchestra, with whom he also appears as soloist. He is also much in demand as guest principal with orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic, with whom he was associate principal from 1990 to 199, the Hallé, the City of London Sinfonia, the Orchestra of St John’s, the Britten Sinfonia, and the Hanover Band.

Andrew is a member of the chamber ensemble the Fibonnacci Sequence and was a founder member of the York Piano Trio from 1987 to 1990. He has been a guest player with many chamber groups, including the Brindisi, Coull and 4th Dimension string quartets and the Schubert Ensemble. As a chamber player, he has also made many live broadcasts and studio recordings for BBC Radio 3 from venues such as the BBC Concert Hall, St. Johns Smith Square, St Georges Brandon Hill and Pebble Mill. He was made an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in 2005.
